If Che was such a coward, why would he with only a hand full of men try to take on the Military of Bolivia?

Like the movie "Butch Cidy and the Sundance Kid", maybe he foolishly got himself into a hopeless situation. Had he just snuck over the Rio Grande, he could have made a fortune off his t-shirts.
