What are the other famous disasters like the Titanic?

There are many ships lost at sea for many reasons. The ship RMS Lusitania was sunk by a German submarine within sight of the UK but it was May, 1915 not the years you mention. Some think the ship was sunk by mistake but Germany later claimed the ship was carrying war material which was not the case. The ship was unlucky in that the torpedo hit near an empty coal hold. The dust from coal is highly explosive and the torpedo explosion started a sort of chain reaction creating an even larger explosion. Lots of additional information on the Web. Good luck. P.S. RMS was for Royal Mail Ship, a British ship designator.
