Hamlet movie with mel gibson?

Im very confused by the scene with his mother. Are they implying Hamlet is ing his mother. they are on a bed? is it supposed to be ual or just him expressing his anger. The scene left me confused like if he was doing the whole Electra/ oedipus complex deal wanting to ually enjoy his mother. Just confused about the whole meaning of it. Any ideas?
