Training to become a chef what do i do? when can i start? ?

well basically i am a 17 year old male in England. and when i left school i didnt know what i wanted to do, so i did a ND in countryside management (national diploma - BTECH) and it isnt for me im on my 2nd year now and im going to p. well i got 5 GCSE's at C and above but got a D in maths, Anyway i was wondering starting next year in september i want to train to be a chef and was wondering if i could do an apprentiship or what id have to study at college iv asked around as i pot scrub part time and its all different things. but yes please can someone give me some usefull information on what they know and the easiest way around it id prefer a apprentiship rather than a full time course but yeah .. i dont know much about cooking i have a pion but id need to learn from scratch
