Do you think a History teacher/lecturer is a good job?

How much do they earn? If I was doing a History degree already, how would I go about becoming a teacher? is there a course you can complete after you've done your degree? I'd prefer to be a college or university lecturer over a school teacher and there's extremely high demand for them in my area and there's a campaign to get more male teachers, one of my lecturers told me a while ago that this would be a good job for me as I have the right attitude but personally I'm not sure, lol!
